Iris is provided by Crown Student Consultancy (CSC) UK Ltd, trading as Ferrolo (company number 14324057, registered in England and Wales, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under ZC265399).

This licence forms part of our terms of service. Where the two differ, the terms of service apply, except for section 7, which applies to apps downloaded from the Apple App Store.

1. Who this licence is for

This licence applies to everyone who uses Iris, whether on the web, in our mobile app or in any other app we provide. By using Iris you accept it. If you don’t, please don’t use Iris.

2. What you may do

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Iris for your own purposes, on devices you own or control, for as long as you have an account. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you may also use it as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.

3. What you may not do

You must not, and must not let anyone else:

share your sign-in, or let anyone else use your account;
copy, modify, distribute, sell or lend any part of Iris;
reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or try to extract its source code, models or prompts, except where the law allows;
scrape it, or access it by automated means;
test, probe or get round its security or limits;
use it, or what it produces, to build a competing product;
remove or hide any notice of ownership.

4. Ownership

Iris is licensed to you, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights in it, including its software, designs and trade marks. What you put into Iris remains yours, as our terms of service explain.

5. Updates

We update Iris regularly, and app updates may install automatically depending on your device settings. Updates may add, change or remove features. Some features may need a recent version of the app, your browser or your device’s operating system.

6. When this licence ends

This licence ends automatically when your account closes. We may also end it straight away if you break it. When it ends you must stop using Iris and delete the app.

7. Apps from the Apple App Store

If you downloaded Iris from the Apple App Store, you and we also agree that:

this licence is between you and us only, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content;
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
if the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, that you paid for the app. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility;
we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claims by you or anyone else relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws;
if anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim;
you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
you must comply with any third-party terms that apply when using the app, such as your mobile network’s terms;
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this licence and, once you accept it, Apple has the right to enforce it against you.

8. Our responsibility to you

Our responsibilities to you, and the limits on them, are set out in our terms of service. Nothing in this licence affects your legal rights as a consumer.

9. Law

This licence is governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
